Platanista gangetica (Blind River Dolphin) is a species of mammals in the family Indian river dolphins. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Asia. They are solitary, nocturnal carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 336 months. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming and lift powered swimming to move around.
