Mesoplodon hectori (Gray 1871)

Mesoplodon hectori (Hector's Beaked Whale) is a species of Mammal in the family Unidentified Ziphiidae. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to The Neotropics, Ethiopia, and Oceania continent (Australia, NZ and islands). They are solitary carnivores. Individuals can grow to 1.9 m. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming and lift powered swimming to move around.
