Odobenus rosmarus (Walrus) is a species of mammals in the family walruses. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN and in cites appendix iii. They are native to Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. They are omnivores. Individuals are known to live for 480 months and can grow to 320 cm. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming and lift powered swimming to move around.

The reduction of fin cross-sectional area helps to minimize drag, and therefore increase efficiency.
