Striped Bum Coral

Heterocyathus alternatus Verrill 1865

Heterocyathus alternatus (Striped Bum Coral) is a species of cnidarians in the family caryophylliid corals. They are listed in cites appendix ii. Dead Striped Bum Coral form shallow marine sediments. They are solitary. They have alternation of generations, asexual reproduction, and sexual reproduction. They are facultatively mobile animals.
