Pacific Asaphis

Asaphis violascens (Forsskål ex Niebuhr 1775)

Asaphis violascens (Pacific Asaphis) is a species of mussels in the family Psammobiidae. They are native to Seychelles, Mozambican Exclusive Economic Zone, Mascarene Islands, Zululand, and Tanzania. Dead Pacific Asaphis form shallow marine sediments. Individuals can grow to 11 cm. They have sexual reproduction.
