Placuna ephippium (Greater Pacific Saddle Oyster) is a species of mussels in the family Placunidae. Dead Greater Pacific Saddle Oyster form shallow marine sediments. Individuals can grow to 21 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They are sessile animals.
