Crassostrea virginica (American Cupped Oyster) is a species of mussels in the family Ostreidae. They are native to The Neotropics, Atlantic Ocean, and The Nearctic. Adult American Cupped Oyster form marine reefs. Individuals can grow to 283 mm. They have sexual reproduction. They are sessile animals.
