Crassostrea virginica (American Cupped Oyster) is a species of mussels in the family oyster. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Neotropics, Atlantic Ocean, and The Nearctic. Adult American Cupped Oyster form marine reefs. Dead American Cupped Oyster form shallow marine sediments. Individuals can grow to 283 mm. They have sexual reproduction. They are sessile animals.
