Valkokurkkumaluri (Gerygone olivacea) on Australiassa ja Papua-Uudessa-Guineassa tavattava tiaismalureihin kuuluva varpuslintu.

Koko ja ulkonäkö

Kooltaan valkokurkkumaluri on 10–12 cm. Lajin selkä on väritykseltään ruskehtavan harmaa. Nokan yläpuolella oleva täplä sekä kurkku ovat väriltään valkoiset. Valkoinen on myös pyrstön kärki. Valkokurkkumalurin vatsa on väriltään kirkkaan keltainen. Ulkonäöltään valkokurkkumaluri eroaa valkoviiksimalurista (Gerygone palpebrosa) valkoisen pyrstön kärkensä perusteella. Lisäksi joillakin valkoviiksimalurikoirailla on tumma naama. Nuoren yksilön voi sekoittaa myös kultamaluriin (Smicrornis brevirostris).^[2]

Levinneisyys ja elinympäristö

Valkokurkkumaluria tavataan Papua-Uudesta-Guineasta ja Australiasta.^[1] Australiassa levinneisyysalue ulottuu Länsi-Australian osavaltion pohjoisrannikolta Pohjoisterritorion rannikkoa pitkin Queenslandin osavaltioon ja edelleen etelään Uuden Etelä-Walesin ja Victorian osavaltioihin. Linnun elinympäristöä ovat kuivat eukalyptusmetsät ja erityisesti rinnemetsät. Valkokurkkumaluria tavataan usein vesialueiden läheisyydestä.^[2][3]

Elintavat

Valkokurkkumalurit elävät yksin tai pareittain. Lajin ravinto koostuu hyönteisistä, joita se pyydystää ilmasta tai etsii puiden lehvästöjen joukosta. Valkokurkkumalureita voi nähdä yhdessä muiden ilmasta hyönteisiä pyydystävien lintujen, kuten timanttihelmikkään (Pardalotus punctatus) ja tuhkaviuhkamonarkin (Rhipidura albiscapa), muodostamissa ryhmissä.^[3] Elinalueensa eteläosissa valkokurkkumaluri on muuttolintu.^[2]

Valkokurkkumalurin pesimäkausi kestää syyskuusta marraskuulle ja pohjoisessa hieman pidempään. Laji rakentaa puuhun roikkuvan päärynänmuotoisen pesän puunkuorenpalasista, jotka se sitoo yhteen hämähäkinseitin avulla. Naaras munii kahdesta kolmeen munaa.^[2]
