Myiopsitta monachus (Monk Parakeet) is a species of birds in the family parrots. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to South America, Brazil, Uruguay, The Neotropics, Paraguay, Bolivia, and Argentina. They visit flowers of silkoak. They are diurnal. They have parental care (cooperative breeding). They rely on flight to move around.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
