Colour in life: pale flesh tone with large brick-red patches, especially proximally, arm tips black (Sloan et al., 1979). Also distributed in Maldive area, East Indies, Philippine, China, south Japan and South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995). Ecology: bentic, inshore, continental shelf. General distribution: tropical, Indo-Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-80 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
