Colonies are submassive or encrusting. Corallites are cerioid to submeandroid usually with less than four centres. Walls are thick, paliform lobes are well developed. Colour: pale brown or pink, dark brown in deep or turbid water. Abundance: very common in most shallow-water habitats. (Veron, 1986 )
