They are native to Cerrado, Mata Atlântica, Pará, Mato Grosso, Amapá, RondôNia, Amazônia, Caatinga, Roraima, ParaíBa, Distrito Federal, Pantanal, GoiáS, Maranhao, Tocantins, Acre (Brazil), Bahia, Pernambuco, Ceará, Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Norte, Piauí, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Sergipe, and Minas Gerais. They have compound, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Greater Spear-nosed Bat. Individuals can grow to 34 m.
