Sarmentose-stoloniferous perennial, rooting at the nodes; stem hirsute; basal leaves pinnatifid with numerous segments ; stipules brown, scarious, ciliate, lanceolate, entire ; leaflets deeply 3-cleft into lanceolate or oblong divisions, hirsute, 3-5 mm. long ; stipules of the stem-leaves foliaceous, connate, dissected into linear divisions ; blades sessile with few segments ; flowers solitary in the axils of the upper leaves, short-pedicelled ; hypanthium campanulate, only slightly constricted at the mouth, about 2 mm. long; bractlets and sepals lanceolate, 3-nerved, strigose without, about 1 mm. long ; filaments nearly equaling the sepals ; pistils 1-2, stipitate.
Type locality : Huassahuassi, Peru.
Distribution : Mountains from central Mexico to Bolivia.
