Phytolacca americana (American Nightshade) is a species of perennial herb in the family Phytolaccaceae. They are succulent plants. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and berry. Flowers are visited by Insidious flower bug, American Bumblebee, Philanthus gibbosus, and Atteva aurea. Individuals can grow to 2.3 m.
