Oxalis rubrocincta Lindl. Bot. Reg. 28 : pi. 64. 1842.
Plants 1-2 dm. tall; leaves tufted, the petioles sparingly pubescent, stout, the blades of the leaflets 1.5-2.5 cm. long, brittle, slightly notched at the apex, purple-margined and with a row of inframarginal dots, paler beneath than above, ciliolate ; scapes stout, pubescent like the petioles ; cymes dichotomous ; pedicels sparingly pubescent or nearly glabrous ; sepals 8-10 mm. long, the outer ones with broadly ovate bodies and narrow tips, the inner ones linear, sparingly pubescent ; petals yellow, cuneate, 11-16 mm. long; capsules not seen. 1
Type locality : Grown in 1841 at London from seeds collected in Guatemala by T. Hartweg. Distribution : Guatemala.
