One of the many South African bulbous plants. This one belonging to the iris family. I was lucky enough to get Graham Duncan from Kirstenbosch botanical gardens to identify it.
Freesia hybrid. The genus is native to eastern Africa from Kenya to South Africa. Plants of the genus have been crossed and recrosed since the early 19th century and by now bear little resemblence to any of the Freesia species. Photographed in a private Garden in Berkeley, CA.
