Annual, diffusely branched, glandular-punctate herbs, not strongly aromatic when bruised. Leaves alternate, sometimes opposite, pinnatisect with filiform lobes; margin entire. Inflorescence a diffuse panicle. Capitula small, distinctly stalked, heterogamous; ray florets female, ligulate; disk florets bisexual. Phyllaries 2-seriate, free; margin hyaline. Achenes narrowly obpyramidal. Pappus of 8 hyaline scales.

Schkuhria is a genus of flowering plants in the tribe Bahieae within the family Asteraceae.[3][4] False threadleaf is a common name.[5] The genus was named in honour of Christian Schkuhr (1741-1811), a German gardener and physical scientist at the University of Wittenberg.
