Papaver (Poppy) is a genus of herb in the family Papaveraceae. They are native to South Africa, Alaska, Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Greenland. They have capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Syrphus, Eupeodes corollae, Honey bee, and Scaeva pyrastri. Individuals can grow to 0.4 m.
