Description: slender-bodied; snout pointed; frontal profile straight to slightly rounded (Ref. 52307).Coloration: snout, front of head, opercles and upper half of body gray, lower body parts and caudal peduncle more silvery to whitish; black longitudinal, sometimes broken, stripe runs along mid-body; additionally, several dusky horizontal bars may sometimes be visible on body; soft dorsal fin with some reddish maculae; caudal finyellowish with 3-4 vertical rows of dark maculae; anal fin yellowish, lacking egg spots (Ref. 52307).

Orthochromis luongoensis is a species of cichlid endemic to Zambia, where it is only known from the Luongo River, a tributary of the Luapula in the upper Congo River basin.[1][2] This species can reach a length of 6.3 centimetres (2.5 in) SL.[2]
