Large male revealed beneath pine bark.

Brown above with prominent yellow on upper legs and sides of belly and tail yellowish; whitish below with extremely fine gray speckling, yellowish hind legs, vent region, and tail. Measured: SVL 57 mm (2 1/4 in.), TL 102 mm (4 in.).

Found beneath tree stump bark in deforested area.

Above marbled with yellow and brown; below pale with yellow tail. Eyes with yellow iris. Two found exposed when examining ravines at night with lantern. Two ravines near Gold Bluff Campground were examined and one Ensatina was found in each.

Adult male, females, and tiny juvenile found. Four located beside Mist Trail pair beneath bark and others located under stones. One found in very wet location where mist from waterfall rained down.

Large female: SVL 64 mm (2 in.), TL 121 mm (4 in.). Discovered within interior of rotted log. Coloration of reddish spots match coloration of log.

Dark above with yellow blotches, large blotch behind each eye, below pale and somewhat transparent; eyes black. Found under log coexisting with large family of mice. Perhaps warmth radiated from these mammals made this log more appealing. Weather at time was extremely cold, with sporadic snow flurries.

Orange-brown above, orange below. Yellow patch in eyes. Three found under scattered logs very small juvenile, mid-size juvenile, and adult male found.

Large female uncovered beneath shaded, rotting log in thick, moist leaf-litter after heavy rain.
