Dioscorea (Yam) is a genus of perennial herb in the family Dioscoreaceae. They are climbers. They are native to Canada, Puerto Rico, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands, and The Contiguous United States. They have capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Anomala. Individuals can grow to 4.7 m.
