Octodon degus (Degu) is a species of rodents in the family Octodontidae. They are native to The Neotropics. They are diurnal omnivores. Individuals are known to live for 85.2 months and can grow to 280 mm. They have parental care (paternal care, cooperative breeding, and female provides care). They rely on saltation to move around.
