Perognathus merriami (Merriam's Pocket Mouse) is a species of rodents in the family Heteromyidae. They are found in The Neotropics and The Nearctic. They are solitary, nocturnal omnivores. Individuals are known to live for 30 months and can grow to 58.7 mm. They rely on saltation to move around.
