Higher classification of Andrewsiella

provided by EOL authors

Andrewsiella was described in the family Acanaloniidae by Izzard (1936), where it remained at the time of the Metcalf catalog (Metcalf 1954).Fennah (1954) placed it in the Tonginae of the Issidae.Fennah (1954) treated Issidae very broadly, including Acanaloniinae, Trienopinae, Caliscelinae as subfamilies, along with the traditional issids as Issinae.Emeljanov (1999) raised Acanaloniidae back to family status, but included the Trienopinae and Tonginae within the Acanaloniidae.Gnezdilov (2007) subsequently transferred the Tonginae to the Nogodinidae (and Trienopinae to Tropiduchidae), hence Andrewsiella's current status in the Nogodinidae, subfamily Tonginae.
