provided by Nemertea

(from Chernyshev (1999). A new species, Carinoma ushakovi sp. n. (= Carinoma sp. Ushakov, 1928), from the White and Barents Seas is described. In this species, there is a lacunar network in the precerebral region, muscle-crosses are well-developed, the plate of longitudinal musculature between rhynchocoel and the foregut is very thin, numerous longitudunal muscle fibers penetrate the inner circular muscle layer of body wall, rhychodeum lines by glandular epithelium. The internal morphology of Statolitonemertes sachalinica Korotkevitsch, 1982 paratype is re-described. The genus Statolitonemertes differs from Carinoma only in the presence of statocystes and the entry of rhynchocoel vessels into the cephalic lacunae. The family Statolitonemertidae Korotkevitsch, 1982 is synonymized with Carinomidae.
