Test: ovoid, cross-section circular, truncated; clear. Pseudostome: terminal, round, with short collar. Size: 48 to 55 µm. Nucleus: ovular, oval, nucleoli concentrated below nuclear membrane. Feeding: herbivore. Habitat: freshwater (rare!). One species: Leptochlamys ampullacea West, 1901.
