Test: thick membrane, attached, thin, siliceous particles; subglobular or hemispheroid. Pseudostome: ventral, central, round, in contrast to Cyclopyxis not invaginated. Ventral surface smooth. Nucleus with one large central caryosome and several smaller peripheral nucleoli. Two species and several subspecies. Type species: Geopyxella sylvicola Bonnet & Thomas, 1955. Due to its narrow niche good indicator species for calcareous rendziniform soils. Similar species: G. aquatica.
