Locomotive forms regularly discoid, ovoid or fan-shaped. With a prominent granular cytoplasmic mass surrounded either entirely or anteriorly and laterally by a flattened hyaline margin. With or without slender conical subseudopodia from the clear border. Amoebae frequently move with a distinctive rolling motion. Family description emended by Page (1976).
