Plecotus austriacus (Gray Big Eared Bat) is a species of bats in the family Vespertilionidae. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN. They are native to Asia, the Palearctic, and Ethiopia. They are solitary, nocturnal carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 180 months and can grow to 41 mm. They rely on flight to move around.
