The species is related to Heliotropium cabulicum from which it differs mainly in the shorter corolla which is glabrous within and longer anthers.

An erect perennial up to 36 cm tall, branched. Stem and branches appressed hairy, with hairs up to 0.3 mm long, some arising from a tuberculate base. Leaves petiolate, green; petiole up to 7 mm long. Lamina 10-20 x 8-12 mm, ovate to oblong-ovate, ± obtuse, wavy, appressed hairy on both surfaces with short hairs, nerves on under surface prominent. Inflorescence usually terminal and forked, up to 4 cm long, few-flowered (up to 10) with flowers uniseriately arranged. Calyx 3.5-4 mm long, 5-partite, lobes lanceolate. Corolla tube slightly longer than calyx, retrorsely hairy to outside, glabrous within; lobes 1-1.5 mm long, obtuse, ± patent, margin undulate. Anthers 1.8-2 mm long, sessile, oblong, base broader, attached c. 1 mm from base of corolla tube. Stigma c. 0.9 mm long, conical, sparse hairy. Style 0.4-0.5 mm long, glabrous. Fruit not seen.
