Plants erect, small, 15-20 cm tall. Stem erect, simple. Leaves alternate, petiolate or subsessile; petiole 5-12 mm; leaf blade whitish abaxially, green adaxially, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 3-5 × 1.5-2 cm, rigid, both surfaces spreading multicellular pubescent, ciliate along basal margin, ciliae at basal part 1-3 mm, lateral veins 4 or 5 pairs, base gradually attenuate into petiole, margin inconspicuously crenate or nearly entire, apex acute. Inflorescences 1-flowered in upper leaf axils. Pedicels 2-3 cm, slender, spreading pubescent, base 2-bracteate or with 1 small bract only. Flowers pink-purple, ca. 2 cm, ca. 3.5 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, narrowly subulate, 1-1.5 mm, apex slightly awned. Lower sepal navicular, 1-3 cm deep, gradually narrowed into a slender spur, mouth oblique, 0.8-1 cm, tip acute. Upper petal pink-purple, broadly obovate, ca. 0.9 × 1.2 cm, apex retuse, abaxial midvein thickened, puberulent, narrowly cristate; lateral united petals not clawed, short, ca. 1.2 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes broadly oblong, ca. 9 × 5 mm, apex slightly retuse-truncate; distal lobes triangular-ovate, ca. 8 × 6 mm, apex rounded or emarginate; auricle suborbicular. Filaments subulate, short; anthers ovoid, small, apex obtuse. Ovary ovoid, 4-5 mm, puberulent, apex acute. Capsule fusiform, ca. 1.5 cm, tomentose. Seeds few, brown, oblong, 3-5 mm, glabrous. Fl. Jul-Sep. 2n = 12.
