Osmia (Chenosmia) clarescens Cockerell

This is a southwestern desert, spring species occurring from southern California to New Mexico. It is polylectic, taking pollen from a wide variety of plants. Timberlake captured a female at Larrea in Palm Canyon, Borrego State Park, San Diego County, California in mid-April. We have no further Larrea records.
