Procumbent or prostrate shrubby herb, up to 35 cm long. Leaves more or less narrowly elliptic or rarely obovate, 1.5-5 cm long, glossy, sparsely and minutely roughly hairy; margin with 4-10 triangular mucronate teeth on each side. Spikes 4-12-flowered, 1.5-5 cm long. Bracts dark green to almost completely whitish minutely hairy with occasional longer hairs on the veins, 15 27 mm long, spine-tip recurved, 5-11 mm long with 3-6 narrow spines on each side of the margin. Corolla blue to mauve, 20-27 mm long; lip hairy below, central lobe emarginate and somewhat narrowing towards the base.
