Pontederia cordata (Pickerelweed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Pontederiaceae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Bahia, Canada, Espirito Santo, Pará, Eastern North America, SãO Paulo, Amapá, Mata Atlântica, Pampa, Rio Grande Do Sul, Tocantins, The Contiguous United States, Pantanal, Pernambuco, North America, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, Amazônia, Caatinga, Distrito Federal, Cerrado, Rio De Janeiro, Alagoas, GoiáS, ParaíBa, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Paraná, and Santa Catarina. They have blue flowers. Flowers are visited by Common Eastern Bumblebee, Empis humilis, Florilegus condignus, and Southern Carpenter Bee. Individuals can grow to 3.2 feet.
