Haplochromis cryptodon Greenwood 1959

Mouthbrooding by females.

Inhabits shallow beaches (Ref. 4983). The stomach of one specimen which was examined contained recently fertilized cichlid ova, while numerous small fish vertebrae were found in the posterior intestine (Ref. 558).

Haplochromis cryptodon is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Victoria. This species grows to a length of 13 centimetres (5.1 in) SL.
