Body with 12-15 dark bars, regularly shaped and set; complete black bar at caudal base reaching dorsal and ventral midlines; complete lateral line; processus dentiformis slender; axillary pelvic lobe not reduced; pelvic fin situated vertical to first branched dorsal-fin ray; body elongated and head depressed; small median incision in upper lip (Ref. 40772).

Found in a stream with fast running water. Associated with Poropuntius deauratus (Cyprinidae), Pterocryptis cochinchinensis (Siluridae), and Schistura spiloptera. Apparently very rare.

Schistura bachmaensis is a species of ray-finned fish in the stone loach genus Schistura. It has been only been recorded in a single small stream with fast running water and boulders in Thua Thien Province of Vietnam.
