Second dorsal fin rays I/8; anal fin rays modally I/8; pectoral fin modally 18; scales in lateral series 27-29; predorsal scales 8-11; vertebrae (including urostyle) modally 25. First dorsal fin rays without filamentous extensions, fourth ray longest in male. Anal fin origin inserted below origin of first branched ray of second dorsal fin. Distance between posterior oculoscapular canal pores è and ô slightly longer than gap between anterior and posterior oculoscapular canals. Body always lacking cross bands and each body-scale pocket with brownish-orange mark on distal half. Cheek and opercle creamy yellow, always with dark-brown streak. Branchiostegal membrane with 6-7 dark-red lines. Basal part of pectoral fin with dark-brown spot.
