Astronotus ocellatus (Oscar) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family Cichlidae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Neotropics. Individuals can grow to 45.7 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
