Ctenopharyngodon idella és una espècie de peix de la família dels ciprínids i de l'ordre dels cipriniformes.

Morfologia

Alimentació

Menja plantes aquàtiques, detritus, insectes i d'altres invertebrats.[7]

Depredadors

És depredat per Channa argus warpachowskii, Elopichthys bambusa, Luciobrama typus, Esox lucius, Stizostedion lucioperca, Siniperca chuatsi, Silurus asotus, Micropterus salmoides, Ardeola schistaceus, Sinonatrix piscator i Enhydris chinensis.[8]

Hàbitat

És un peix d'aigua dolça i de clima subtropical.[7]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a Àsia: des de la Xina fins a la Sibèria oriental (conca del riu Amur), tot i que ha estat introduït arreu del món.[9][10][7][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45]

Ús gastronòmic

És venut fresc i es menja al vapor, fregit, rostit o enfornat.[46]

Observacions

És considerat una plaga a la majoria dels països a causa dels danys que provoca a la vegetació submergida.[47]
