Scaphirhynchus platorynchus (Sand Sturgeon) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family sturgeons. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Nearctic. They are solitary, diurnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 108 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming to move around.
