Sternopygus macrurus (Longtail Knifefish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family glass knifefishes. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Neotropics. Individuals can grow to 141 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming and anal fin swimming to move around.
