Diagnosis: body depth and head length 4-5x SL; eye diameter slightly greater than snout length 2.5-3.6x of head length; scale formula 6.5-8.5/52-63/7.5-8.5; 10-12 anal fin branched rays; 16-19 dorsal fin branched rays (Ref. 2936, 86396).Description: small, elongate and laterally compressed; mouth terminal with two rows of bicuspid teeth in each jaw; pectorals shorter than head length; adipose fin not scaly; caudal fin scaly at base, lobes pointed and equal; caudal peduncle 1.2-2.5x longer than high (Ref. 2936, 86396).Coloration: black lateral band contrasting with light yellow body; black spot on tip of dorsal fin (Ref. 2936, 86396).
