Hesperia juba is a year-round resident of the western United States and north into British Columbia (Scott 1986). Habitats are sagebrush, chaparral and open woodland. Host plants are multiple species of grasses. Eggs are laid on or near the host plant singly. Individuals overwinter probably as larvae. There are two flights each year with the approximate flight time May1-June 15 and Sept. 1-Sept. 30 (Scott 1986).

Hesperia juba, the Juba skipper, Yuba skipper, or jagged-border skipper, is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae. It is found in North America from British Columbia, south to southern California, east to Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and north-western New Mexico.

The wingspan is 32–42 mm. There are two generations per year with adults on wing from May to June and again from August to September.

The larvae feed on Deschampsia elongata, Stipa, Bromus rubens, and Poa pratensis. Adults feed on flower nectar from various flowers, including rabbitbrush.

Hesperia juba is een vlinder uit de familie van de dikkopjes (Hesperiidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1872 door Samuel Hubbard Scudder. Deze naam wordt wel beschouwd als een synoniem van Hesperia comma subsp. oregonia (Edwards, 1883).
