Pileus submembranous, soft, convex, then explanate, umbilicate, 10-20 mm. broad; surface subpruinose, fulvobadious or fox-brown, fading in dry plants; margin striate-plicate, at first involute, lax or drooping: context having a strong, disagreeable odor; lamellae annulateadnexed, not broad, distant, reddish-yellow: spores 7-8 X 4^: stipe pruinose, minutely floccose at the base, hollow, spadiceous. darker below, 1-2.5 cm. long, 2 mm. thick.
Type locality: England.
Habitat: Fallen twigs, leaves, etc.
Distribution: Temperate North America; also in Europe.
