The Yucca plant is a succulent plant found in the Sonoran Desert.Like all succulents, it stores water in its thick arms. Yuccas have a central stem that blossoms into beautiful white flowers during the night time; these flowers close up during the day. Because of this, the Yucca is often called “The Queen of the Night.” When Yucca plants become pollinated, they can produce a juicy red fruit. Yucca plants have a symbiotic relationship with the Yucca moth; the Yucca moths live and mate in the petals of the Yucca plant. In return, they carry the pollen of the Yucca plant in their mouth and wings to other Yucca plants so that they can be pollenated. It is a symbiotic relationship in which one species cannot live without the other.
