The Geata mouse shrew (Myosorex geata) is a species of mammal in the family Soricidae endemic to Tanzania. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.^[1]

Myosorex geata is een spitsmuis uit het geslacht Myosorex die voorkomt in het Ulugurugebergte in Tanzania. Deze soort komt in bergregenwoud voor. Naast een andere spitsmuis, Crocidura telfordi, is Myosorex geata het enige endemische zoogdier in het Ulugurugebergte. M. geata is overigens ook van andere locaties gerapporteerd, maar de geldigheid daarvan is onzeker. Het dier werd oorspronkelijk in Crocidura geplaatst, maar in 1967 naar Myosorex verplaatst.

Myosorex geata^[2][3] är en däggdjursart som först beskrevs av Allen och Arthur Loveridge 1927. Myosorex geata ingår i släktet Myosorex och familjen näbbmöss.^[4][5] IUCN kategoriserar arten globalt som starkt hotad.^[1] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.^[4]

Denna näbbmus är bara känd från bergstrakten Uluguru i östra Tanzania. Den vistas där mellan 1500 och 2000 meter över havet. Arten lever i bergsskogar.^[1]
