Description

Climbing perennial herb with stinging hairs. Stems up to 3 m long Leaves ovate or oblong-lanceolate, up to 13 cm long, 5-7 veined from the cordate base, sparsely hairy above and on the midrib and veins below; margin sharply dentate. Petiole up to 7 cm long. Inflorescences terminal, leaf-opposed or axillary, up to 8.5 cm long. Flowers unisexual on the same plant. Fruit strongly 3-lobed, 5 × 9 mm, smooth, green with rough hairs on the ribs of the lobes.
