Commelina erecta (Blousel Blommetjie) is a species of perennial herb in the family Commelinaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Alagoas, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, GoiáS, Espirito Santo, U.S. Virgin Islands, Distrito Federal, Caatinga, RondôNia, Rio De Janeiro, Tocantins, The Contiguous United States, Mata Atlântica, Maranhao, Ceará, Pantanal, Puerto Rico, Pernambuco, Rio Grande Do Sul, Paraná, Piauí, Rio Grande Do Norte, Mato Grosso, Amazônia, Cerrado, ParaíBa, SãO Paulo, and Pará. They have simple, broad leaves and blue flowers. Flowers are visited by Syrphid fly, Lasioglossum nymphale, Pure Green Augochlora, and Augochloropsis metallica. Individuals can grow to 0.3 m.
