Potamogeton illinoensis (Illinois Pondweed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Potamogetonaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Pantanal, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Sul, Santa Catarina, Ceará, Canada, Caatinga, The Contiguous United States, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, SãO Paulo, North America, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Pampa, Piauí, Paraná, Mata Atlântica, and Puerto Rico. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.017 m.
