Sporobolus indicus (Smut Grass) is a species of annual herb in the family true grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Cerrado, Alagoas, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Norte, Mato Grosso, Maranhao, Bahia, Mata Atlântica, Sergipe, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pernambuco, Pampa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Ceará, Santa Catarina, ParaíBa, US Minor Outlying Islands, Paraná, GoiáS, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Amapá, Minas Gerais, Pará, Roraima, Distrito Federal, Puerto Rico, Rio De Janeiro, Pantanal, SãO Paulo, and Caatinga. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.3 m.
